Raiders suffered defeat in the third Saigon Ashes match, the scoreline finishing 4-2.
Missing a huge number of players, the makeshift side with two debutants and two teenagers played a great first half in what was a very even game. Fla, a Brazilian playing his first game, was impressing, and met a great cross to head home and put Raiders 1-0 up. Owen, another Raiders first-timer, was also having a very impressive game at center back with his reading of the game.
However, second half was a different game, and Saints quickly fought back to 2-1 up before a great finish from their striker added another. Raiders pulled one back after Fla drove his free kick around the wall which the goalkeeper spilled only for Laurie to pounce and poke the ball home. Raiders then were awarded a penalty for a foul on Fla in the box, however this time the goalkeeper excelled and tipped Laurie’s effort around the post. Saints then added a fourth to end any hopes of a Raiders come back.
